About Me

Fresh out of NS in late 2016, I sought a full-time career and started to think: I'm working in a job that I love, but does this job pay enough for me to save for retirement?

The answer was: Probably not. Unless I scrimp and save every dollar.

That was when I decided to learn about investing. I thought I had to know the stock market (to a certain extent, some knowledge is needed), I thought I had to actively buy and sell stocks, put my money in endowment plans and ILPs by financial advisors.

But then I thought, why not do it myself?

As a young adult with no background knowledge in business, finance or investing, I seek to invest and build a passive income which will serve me well in my golden years.

At the point of writing this post, I am just like you, I have zero investment head start and I've just gotten a job. This is from zero! (I'm a flight attendant earning about $3,200 - $3,500 after CPF deductions, so I'm also not a highly paid salaryman).

This is a blog of my journey to reach that point, feel free to join me in my semi-weekly blog posts about what I've done with my income, and see if we can reach that point together.
